This system includes:
Two sizes to fit Wide Mouth Mason jars, which have a 3" internal diameter:
Use it to make cold brew coffee or iced coffee concentrate, hot or iced tea, nut milk, infused water or alcohol, or to filter or strain any liquid – directly into your jar!
Enjoy smooth, refreshing beverages all year long with this versatile filter system that is perfect for making delicious cold brew coffee or steeping loose leaf tea. This system makes it easy to create cafe-quality drinks at home.
Cold Brew Coffee is naturally lower in acidity, making it gentler on your teeth and stomach. Since it's never heated, the chemistry remains unchanged, allowing you to store it in the fridge for 1-2 weeks without altering the taste.
Cold Brew Tea contains fewer tannins than hot-brewed tea, resulting in a smoother, less bitter flavor. Use loose leaf tea to further eliminate waste in your home.
Stainless Steel Filter
Stainless Steel Lid
Two Silicone Seals – One for brewing (wrap-around), one for leak-proof storage. Only use one at a time.
Important: Use only the wrap-around silicone seal (which seals both the filter and lid) when brewing. This seal is optional if your jar will remain upright.
Fill the stainless steel filter about ¾ full with coarse ground coffee. The extra space is to allow for swelling.
Fill the jar with cold water.
Let steep on your counter or in the fridge for 24 hours.
Remove the filter, compost the grounds, and enjoy over ice or hot — diluted to taste.
Add 1–2 tsp of loose leaf tea per 6–8 oz of cold water.
Place in fridge and steep:
White/Green Tea: 6–8 hours
Black/Oolong Tea: 8–12 hours
Remove the filter, compost the leaves, and serve as desired.
Add grounds or tea leaves to the filter.
Pour in water heated to about 200°F.
Let steep a few minutes, then enjoy.
After brewing, replace the wrap around brewing seal with the leak-proof silicone sealing liner and stainless steel lid to keep your drink fresh in the fridge.
Be sure you use coarse ground coffee! A higher quality coffee grinder will give you a more consistent coarse grind. Cheaper grinders produce a mix of coarse all the way down to powdery grinds.
The cold brew concentrate will be strong! Cold brew coffee is commonly made very strong and diluted at serving time. Dilute to taste and enjoy hot or iced with milk, sweeteners, or syrups.
To make a more concentrated version, use more coffee grounds or steep for longer.
Filter Sizes: Height: Pint: 10cm, Quart: 15cm, and Half Gallon: 21cm. The filter mesh is 7cm in diameter and a 50-micron Dutch weave.
All parts are easy to clean and dishwasher safe, and I find this is the easiest way to clean them.
